Unrivalled power and performance: 5.39 Megapixels direct-to-DVD.

    5.39 Megapixels
The DC50 combines the power of 5.39 Megapixel imaging and the convenience of direct-to-DVD recording. With an RGB Primary Colour Filter, the videos you make benefit from enhanced true-to-life colours.

    Super Range Optical Image Stabilizer
The DC50’s 10x optical zoom lens features Canon’s Super Range Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) - an innovation developed for Canon’s HD (High Definition) camcorder range. This advanced OIS system combines two types of stabilisation to eliminate vibrations across the frequency range, including movements that lesser systems miss.

    Keep on recording
The DC50 lets you carry on shooting after other camcorders have stopped. Compatibility with DVD-R Dual Layer media offers greater capacity while energy saving advances result in lower power consumption - you’ll have enough disc space and sufficient battery power to keep on recording. An optional high capacity battery pack is also available.

    DIGIC DV II
A further benefit derived from Canon’s HD camcorder range, DIGIC DV II provides great colour reproduction and sophisticated noise reduction technology. With separate and super fast processing of video and photo signals, you can take a snapshot even while you’re recording a video. DIGIC DV II delivers vibrant, true-to-life colours for both.

    True wide
Add a cinematic flavour to your videos by recording stunning widescreen movies. You can monitor what you record in true 16:9 via the 2.7" widescreen LCD. To extend battery life, use the widescreen 0.27" colour EVF (Electronic Viewfinder).

    Quick Start
Get a head start with Canon Quick Start. From Standby mode, a single push of a button lets you begin recording almost immediately.

    Advanced photography
See the real benefit of 5.39 Megapixels when shooting a photograph. The DC50 has advanced photo features only normally found on dedicated still cameras.

    Lens cover and flash
A built-in flash for digital photography lets you capture high quality pictures no matter the time of day. One of your camcorder’s most important assets is its lens and a convenient built-in automatic cover means that it’s always protected once the power is switched off.

    MiniSD
Store high resolution digital photographs on convenient MiniSD cards. Photos can also be recorded to disc.

    PictBridge
Print photos directly to a compatible printer at the push of a button.
